Fix: "Account requires reconnection"

Why the red banner appears and how to relink Yelp, Thumbtack, or Google LSA.

If a source card on your Sources page shows a red “Account requires reconnection” alert, LeadWinner has lost its authorized access to that platform. Until you reconnect, new leads from it can’t be answered — so this is worth fixing right away.

Why this happens

The connection between LeadWinner and your platform account is a secure authorization that the platform can end at any time. Typical causes:

  • The platform expired the authorization (they do this periodically).
  • The account password was changed, which invalidates existing authorizations.
  • Access for connected apps was revoked from the platform’s settings.

It doesn’t mean anything is wrong with your LeadWinner account — you just need to approve the connection again. Reconnecting is safe and loses nothing: your settings, leads, and full conversation history stay exactly as they were. You’re only renewing our permission to reply on your behalf — and, as always, we never see your password. Most reconnects take about a minute.

Important: don’t delete the account

Reconnect the existing card instead of deleting it. Deleting removes nothing you’d want gone — and your settings and lead history live on that account.

Reconnect Yelp

  1. On the account card, open the ”⋮” menu and choose “Reconnect account.”
  2. In the window that opens, click “Reconnect account on Yelp.”
  3. A Yelp tab opens — sign in with the same Yelp business account and approve the connection.
  4. Back in LeadWinner, the red alert disappears.

Reconnect Thumbtack

Thumbtack has no separate reconnect button — you simply run the connect flow again with the same account:

  1. Click “Add a New Thumbtack Account” at the top of the Sources page.
  2. Click “Add an account from Thumbtack” and sign in with the same Thumbtack Pro login.
  3. Approve the connection — it relinks to your existing card rather than creating a duplicate.

Reconnect Google LSA

Google LSA access is granted inside your Google Ads account. Check Google Ads for a pending or revoked access request for LeadWinnerLSA and re-grant access. If you don’t see a way to send a new request from LeadWinner, contact support and we’ll re-initiate it.

Still showing the alert?

If the alert persists after a successful reconnect, contact support with the platform name and your account email — we’ll check the connection on our side.
